Brightside Entry | Cocktail Night

Tonight was so much fun. I'm not just saying that because it's the first time I've had a drink in two months either (although I've never heard anyone complain about a cocktail at Fridays). Tonight was lots of fun--I got to hang with two of my favorite people in the world Nico & Ina; these two are crazy and there's never a dull moment hanging out with them. Seriously. We spent the night sipping cocktails, talking about old times and the ridiculous things that we had done, want to do and probably will do: like saynig it's your birthday to get free ice cream. ;)

So...Happy Birthday to me!

Drinks you won't regret: (L-R) The Classic Mojito, The Big Apple Mojito & a Long Island Iced Tea (my drink of choice, yumyum)

Brightside Entry | Meeting Up Old School, No Cellphones

My friend Mon is in town! Before I get into the meat of this post, let me give you a little context about me & Mon's friendship; we were both on the Editorial Board of Malate Literary Folio together a couple of years ago--she was the Photo Editor while I was the Prose Editor. We've spent a million nights together in a layout room being bored out of our minds. I also have been the prey of a couple of her photography experiments--I once almost died (I swear) trying to stay under water in a bathtub in the layout room while Mon turned off the lights and shot photos of me by flashlight. :)) I also let her scan my face once, back when I still had long, long hair.

The thing I love about hanging out with Mon is that she's one of the most honest people that I know. We laugh about old times and tell each other what's been going on in our lives with 0% inhibition. We can tell things the way they are--whether it comes off as lude or insane or mean doesn't really matter. She's also one of the few people I know who understands the balance between apathy and concern; she's never going to coddle you but she always shows genuine concern for your well-being. :)

This is Mon's scanned-photo thing of my face back when I had long, long hair.

Anyway, Mon moved to the States a little over a year ago if I'm not mistaken and I'm so thrilled that she's visiting. :) We spent most of the afternoon together walking around, exchanging stories and trying things on at different stores. And the great thing about today was that we met up old school style--no cellphones, no texts, just a pre-arranged time and place. :)

We met up at good old Starbucks and went semi-window shopping, meaning we tried things on that we couldn't afford just for fun. :)) Such a fun time, though. And doing that makes shopping so much easier--I now have a hit list of things to save up for. Photos below! :)

Mon & I--that top was perfect. I also loved this dress which she picked out for me but then the thought--where will I wear this to? First thing that came to mind was a wedding but I realized it would have to be my own wedding since it's white. :))
After a just-right lunch at Shakey's we walked around a bit before going our separate ways. :) Definitely a day well-spent. I love you, Mon! :)

I'm currently at the Coffee Bean in Town waiting for Joy, Trish & Marz--we're having an Awkward Screening/ cocktail party tonight. :D Hope everyone has a goodweekend! TGIF!

Brightside Entry | Reunited & It Feels So Good

So the rest of today went surprisingly smoothly--I was able to get all the subjects I needed and I spent most of the day hanging out with Ron & Trizh at Ron's place, coloring and reading and ripping the plastic off of chairs (the chairs were new and they were not stolen hahaha). Very fun day, come to think of it now. :D

I was so happy because we--EM/MLF/Crazy People friends-- haven't spent time together collectively since our post-Christmas party which was adjustment day last term (January).

Noel joined us for dinner/drinks at Bagnet along Leon Guinto which is the perfect place for well--everything unhealthy (Bagnet, which is a Filipino dish made of pork fried twice, for my readers who aren't from here). We celebrated the first day of our last year--hopefully, yes--in college with the funniest conversations and a bucket of Red Horse. :D However, we also missed our dear friends Net & Francine, who are in Shanghai & Serbia, respectively. There were four of us and six bottles in the beer bucket so we drank the extra two for Franny & Net. :) (We miss you guys terribly!)

 Double TKo
 Double Ron
 Double Noel

Ended up commuting home with Ron & Trizh (Noel lives up north-o). Trizh got off at the first stop and Ron fell asleep. I ended up watching this terrible flick called Spiders starring the queen from Once Upon A Time as a science nerd/journalist trying to get the latest scoop on these spiders injected with alien DNA; she almost gets eaten but saves the day and gets the scoop on what's up at the untouchable US military research base. Crazyyyyyyyy.

But yeah, very, very good day today. :) Life does surprise you in the best ways sometimes.
Goodnight, world!

You Can't Cover That With Make Up

Off to school today. :) I'm anticipating a loooong day of walking around, lining up at the accounting office, reactivating my one and only abusive husband: my MyLaSalle account and delivering stuff to my lovely customers. I'm also meeting up with the lovely ladies at PriceTag later to get some of the goodies that I bought from their latest collection (I shall show you all tomorrow, as this weekend is yet another fun-filled one).

Later tonight, the bestfriend is sleeping over and we're having a Gossip Girl marathon--like old times. Super excited! Cannot wait for this day to be over. I've got a terrible case of TGIF.

Speaking of thank Gods the package I ordered from VLM arrived yesterday--after a debacle concerning the tight security in my infernal village (land of seclusion) and the darling delivery guy who got lost and was super flustered so I ended up serving him merienda--and I'm super happy about it. I ordered one of their unicorn rings (I'm thinking you get the Fall Behind Me reference now? ) and being a total Unibuff, I'm thrilled. :)) Photo below.

Have a good Friday everyone! ;)

Outfit of the Day: Blue Crush

Today, I resurrected one of my former (and now again) favorite dresses. :) Bought at a now non-existent thrift booth near Town Center around 4 years ago. Worn with my sister's boots from Payless and gray Baggu|Shabd bag. Also, worn with rings in the shape of a Koi Fish and a Beetle as well as black cat-eye shades.

At the office today; this ought to be interesting: it's English Day here at Ancilla! Everyone is required to speak english and anyone who speaks in Filipino and/or any other dialect will be subjected to pay 1 Peso to the English fund. This is to help our Telemarketers and Sales Officers practice their english-speaking skills. It's a refreshing change. I think we ought to have a Filipino day as well. Hahaha

Lots of things to do; having lunch with Joy later which I'm definitely excited about. And then having Friday night pizza and beer with my brother, Kuya Jo later tonight.

TGIF!
