This movie was a riot and that is definitely a good thing as it's Jerry Lee Lewis's biopic and every performance he put on was--is--amazing. I love everything about this movie--the acting, the treatment, the way they were able to make a movie made in the late eighties really look like it was set in the late fifties/early sixties. Dennis Quaid is amazing in the lead role, plus he sang all the parts himself. Amazing! Winona Ryder in the female lead was amazing as well. For those who don't know, a lot of people shunned Jerry Lee for marrying Myra Gale Brown, his 13-year-old second cousin (played so well by Winona; she is the most convincing twenty-something thirteen-year-old) but he stuck by her anyway, his career be damned. The thing about this movie or about great story-telling in general (take Game of Thrones, for instance) is that they can make you accept the craziest things. And as odd as him marrying Myra might seem at the beginning of the flick, you really end up rooting for them regardless of whether or not you think incest is acceptable or whatever. This movie was definitely a 5/5 for me! :)
