While I'm not exactly one to be patriotic--I think it's believing that people are better than other people because they were born somewhere else, which I think is pretty craycray--Independence Day this year was very, very good for me. :) I spent the day with three of my favorite people: Keav, JC & Marz.
Keav and I spent the afternoon together and we caught up with JC & Marz later on in the day. We spent the evening first at the open-air lounge in Shang (EDSA) and later on, at the KFC in the same mall. The great thing about spending time with good friends is that you can spend so much time laughing--something that, I've realized, as you get older becomes rarer. My stomach hurt so bad from doubling over in laughter most of the day. :) Here's to independence, indeed!
Also, this June is Marz and I's 10-year Friendship-versary! In 2002, we met as two awkward 11-year-olds on a school bus with a cranky driver whose favorite thing to make us laugh would be to pretend that his stomach was about the deflate.
I feel like the lady's mouth on the poster above JC's head is going to leap out and eat him. :))
P.S. Also, Trizha spent the evening here last night and I let her tattoo me with her homemade tattoo-ing kit which consists of a sewing needle, calligraphy ink and a pencil. It sounds painful but it really wasn't that bad. I got a small lioness done near my collarbone. That definitely made me feel independent. I'd been talking about getting a tattoo for years but haven't really had the money or the guts to do it, so yeah--definitely glad I did that. Photos of this tomorrow. :)
