Events | The ZALORA Philippines Grand Launch

The ZALORA Philippines launch yesternight was amazing. I will say one (among many) good things about the people behind ZALORA: they know how to throw a party. The affair took place at the Skye Lounge (The Fort)--and everything, from the venue to the drinks to the food to the people and the flow of events was amazing.

Let's start with the venue--Skye Lounge is the rooftop lounge area of the W building in High Street. The place is beautiful and very, very fresh. I'm a huge al fresco fan and was so happy that the party didn't take place indoors (I'm also a tad claustrophobic). The Skye Lounge is also a very intimate venue which I liked because the party didn't feel very formal; it felt as though everyone was just there to mix and mingle.

The drinks were amazing. Can I just say that the organizers behind this party may as well have read my mind--Southern Comfort & Jack Daniels (my two favorite brands of Whiskey) sponsored the event and so there were free-flowing SoCo/Jack cocktails. Delicious. The food was wonderful too; they kept it light which I like with entrees served in colorful, fun containers. They also had (what I'm assuming is) oregano popcorn which was a very tasteful (literally) touch.

The people who attended were wonderful as well. The event was hosted by Sarah Meier-Albano and I absolutely loved her gown. I also got to meet her and Alyssa Lapid which was fun; they're super nice and super beautiful. Theirs were the two dresses that I absolutely loved from last night. :) I attended the event with Trizha & Ina who made the night spectacular.

The flow of events, as I was saying, was wonderful. It began very low-key with everyone getting warmed up and having drinks. Then there was the most clever fashion show that I have ever seen-- the models were all in white while the prints/silhouettes/colors were being projected onto their white clothing. It provided such a beautiful aesthetic and (here comes the hippie inside me) was environmentally friendly as well. <33 The three men behind Zalora--Brian Cu, Paulo Campos III and Pedro Domingues--also gave a short talk about their vision for ZALORA Philippines. And I must say, I was moved by what they had to say. They talked about how they want everyone--call center agents, employees, housewives, students--to be able to feel like they aren't missing out on anything. They want everyone to be able to shop for things they need--birthday gifts, valentine's day presents--despite being busy at work. And I can definitely relate to that, so yeah. I also got the chance to meet them after (minus Brian Cu) and both Paulo and Pedro seemed like very nice people. :)

Trizh, Ins & I ended the night in Itallianis. We were famished; all three of us had forgotten to eat dinner in our haste to get to the party. Mmmm. Omnomnomn. All-in-all a night well-spent indeed.

Wore: The Dainty Dress | WinaWonders, maroon stockings | Terranova, white heels | a gift, ocre ring | Objet D'Art

I was supposed to wear something else because the weather really called for something breezy but the clothes didn't dry on time. Ay caramba! But anyway, I made do. :)

Enjoy the photos!

Outfit posts: Serendipitous stockings, yes? :)

I swear, I am still in love with Sarah's entire get-up. It's so old hollywood; it's wonderful. :)

Me & Trizh's shoes. Wooden soles are so pretty.

This is a joke on myself--punching myself. Alright. :)) I thought some of you might find it amusing. The Ocre ring from Objet D'Art is very pretty though.

 Double-Trizha!
Trizh & I with Alyssa. :) She designed the dress herself! Kudos to you, mademoiselle! <33

For my loves Joy, Trish & Marz: our favorite drink. I took this photo for you guys.

<3 Shop at ZALORA indeed!
