If there's anything that I love, it's having to spend absolutely nothing and have a good time. This past week actually, I've been doing things that have cost me virtually nothing (or close to nothing). Today, (since my class ends at 11:20) I decided to go home early. And while watching Coastal Road whoosh by, I realized that I haven't gone home this early since I was a freshman. (How ironic--my first first term I had almost the same schedule, except back then class started at 7:00 am and ended at 12:30)
So instead of buying something for lunch like I usually do, I decided to have lunch at home. Had myself some good old fashioned Lucky Me noodles with egg (not very healthy, I know but hey, it was in the moment) and decided to spend the afternoon watching Gilmore Girls Season 2 (when Lorelai gets engaged to Max), read up (currently reading Milan Kundera's Life Is Elsewhere) and writing in my journal (while this is a tempting segue into my giveaway, I will resist temptation).
:) Here are a couple of other cheap thrills that I've enjoyed over the past few weeks:
Homemade Rice Balls c/o Trizha I had lunch with Ron and Trizh last Friday and Trizha made us these super delicious nori-wrapped rice ball (triangle more like, but officially they're called balls) things with Tuna and tomato sauce. So delicious! Also, surprisingly filling. :D Small gestures are always so nice. Thank you, Trizh!
E-mails from good friends. In a world where let's face it, e-mails are pretty damn rare (Instant Messaging killed the E-mail Star?), it's always nice to get an e-mail from someone you care about. Today Marz sent me a very nice e-mail about the view from her office window. :) There's something nice about knowing that someone sat down and took time to write you an e-mail as opposed to just noticing you were online and going "Hey! What up?" :D
Sharing A Meal. While I love eating alone (it can be therapeutic) I also love sharing meals with the right people. Good food + good company. Need I say more, really? Here are a couple of photos from my favorite shared meals!
This was from me & Keav's half-yearversary celebration last week. You can read all about that here. P85 bucks for a Super Beef Burrito. Heaven!
This was the Queso De Bola cheesecake from Chef Laudico's BFAST. P120/slice and good enough to feed three young ladies who love sweets. :) Shared this with my lovelies Marz and Ina. You can read up about this here.
This was from the day last term when Lorri & I went on a mini-thrifting trip. Good times. :) Edeng's is one of my favorite places to eat long Taft (corner Dagonoy). An average of P70/mean, including drinks. The Burger Steak & Longsilog are favorites.
Okay. So, I'm over the whole Gong Cha thing (had one cup too many) but still, great memories. This was from one of my girls night outs with Joy this summer. :) Gong Cha for me, Bannofee for her. That's around 200 + each? Although, I might be cheating calling this a shared meal--I don't like bananas. :))
Every morning (when I have time) I make myself coffee using this beautiful coffee press my sister gave me for my birthday (such a sweetheart, that one). Also, I use ground coffee from Quezon province care of our helper, Ate Tess. She's such a sweetheart and I share every batch of coffee with her--it's very strong stuff and each batch can brew two cups. :)
And that's it for today! Hope everyone's had a good one! :D
this post just made me hungry!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA :)) Writing it made me hungry as well!
