Taking the day off today to get some rest. Also, lady pains are a bitch--not that I mind all that much but well, okay ya'll know what I mean. So instead of an outfit post, I'm doing a post on some of the things that I've been clicking away at online and am really excited to receive within the week. :)
I ordered a couple of things from Viva La Manika & Price Tag and I'm getting them this week. Quite excited for them to arrive. I was thinking about whether or not I should post photos of them, but have decided against it--I don't want the impact when they arrive to be diluted; next week should be an outfit post extravaganza . :)
I guess all I'll say for now is that this summer I've really been feeling like a throwback to The Donnas, Weezer & Rooney--three bands that I used to listen to a lot back in 2009. I've been rediscovering (see what I did there? hahaha) them lately and am pleasantly surprised to find that I still know all the words to all their songs. Hahaha Check these videos out from them:
The Donnas "Fall Behind Me" from their album "The Gold Medal"
Mini review: There is not one song on this album that I don't like. The Donnas are one of the best (if not the best) girl band(s) I've ever listened to. :)) There should be a hint in this video as to one of the things I ordered from VLM. Hahaha
Weezer "El Scorcho" from their "Pink Triangle" Album
Mini-review: Weezer's Rivers Cuomo recently did a tie-up with B.O.B called "Magic" and the chorus has a line that goes everytime I touch that track it turns into gold and I believe that. If Weezer comes out with a song, it'll be a hit.
Rooney "Blueside" from their self-titled debut album
Mini-review: Rooney is my favorite band in the world. Doesn't matter if I don't listen to them as often as I used to, if someone asks me what my favorite band is, they're always my default answer. I really can't say much--I wouldn't want anyone to take my word for it. Please watch the video. :)
And speaking of Robert Schwartzman and his very, very talented family: he recently scored the music for Wren's new short film ad "What's Up" (directed by Gia Coppola; Robert also starred in The Virgin Suicides back in 2001--that was directed by Sofia Coppola, his cousin); it's beautiful--the clothing, the music, the over-all look. By far, my favorite ad of this season (although their ad with Tavi Gevinson is a close second):
And that's it for now. :) Hope everyone's having a wonderful Wednesday!
