Last night was the LitAw awarding ceremony and I was a bit apprehensive at first (first, to join and second to go to the thing because I was so damn nervous) but it turned out to be one of the best evenings ever. Free food (cream puffs, another reason to be happy), mini-picnic with Keav, Chihiro, Carlos, Angie, and all these wonderful people (dami eh) in front of the 18th floor Andrew Elevator. Perfect-o! Afterwards, we all went to Ate Em's and feasted on beer and cigarettes while playing cards (thank you Keav, Noel, Angie and Raph for teaching me how to play Pusoy Dos).
The after party ended at around 10:30 but due to some missing-person cases (heeheehee), Keav and I ended up hanging out and wandering aimlessly until around 12:30. We sat in one of the back-alleys near Ate Em's, looking at the moon. And then after that we proceeded to sit on the steps of The Manila Residences and eat a second dinner consisting of siopao and jumbo hotdog. There is something peaceful about Taft at night. The streets are bare and you see people at their most vulnerable--last night we witnessed a couple breaking up, the girl climbing into a taxi and the guy crying and throwing his cigarettes onto the sidewalk, a heartbroken cry clawing it's way out of his throat; we also saw an Iranian girl walking her cute, fluffy dog and a couple of people I know from class having coffee on the steps and talking about boys. And then there was us, two people (quite the mismatched pair since at that point Keav had put his red headband on and taken off his polo so he was just wearing a sando and I was still in my LitAw get up, high-heeled boots and all) with nowhere to go having a small dinner and waiting for their friends. :)
{too lazy to log in as Chihiro}
ReplyDeleteOhgodsohogsohgods I'm so sorry about the missing persons case D: But wow, what a night. I don't even know the couple and yet I wish them the best. :( I'm just glad that you got to spend more time with Keavin lol. XD
Hahaha :))
DeleteNo problem, no problem! :D It was fun rin naman also. And I know. I felt HORRIBLE for them, both for the guy and the girl. He was this lanky sort of skinny guy and she was a nursing student, methinks. Terrrrrible, so sad. But whatever, I hope whatever he/she/they decided turns out to be for the best.
And thank you, I'm glad also! :"> Sighhh.
