Hair, Hair--I Would Really Love To Talk About Voltaire

Does anyone remember that line from The Princess Diaries (2001) when Mia just got her haircut and Lana (Mandy Moore) was making fun of her in the classroom? Well. Anyway. Love that movie. :) And yes, this post is not misleading! I have indeed, gotten my haircut. And yes, it does feel as wonderful as I thought it would feel this morning. Thank goodness the wonderful man who does my hair, Sir Jerry was in--it is also his birthday, so Sir Jerry HAPPY BIRTHDAY--and I think the haircut went wonderfully.

I decided to go with a Hepburn x Twiggy hybrid: I don't have ears as delicate as Audrey Hepburn's (mine stick out a bit) so I decided to keep the Hepburn minus the clean sides. I decided to get Twiggy-burns. :)) Here are a couple of photos that I took when I got home. I'm wearing one of the dresses from our Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You collection which is now on clearance sale over at the store. It's a bit hooj for me (especially around the bust area) but it's nothing that a safety pin can't remedy. :D Enjoy le photos!

So Let Go & Move On

I've been listening to Tegan & Sara's So Jealous album and really--those two are geniuses with both lyrics and melodies. Each song is uber catchy and just has a great arrangement. Favorites from this one are Wake Up Exhausted (hence the title of this post), Where Does The Good Go? and I Know, I Know, I Know.

No class for me today, but I've found that getting up at 5:00 am makes being awake at 7:30 seem like sleeping in, so I'm up early today. I'm heading to the parlor and finally getting that well-deserved haircut. Because I may (or may not, depending on my mood) get a pedicure, I'm wearing slippers today--something that you will not usually catch me doing. I have an aversion toward flipflops that is hard (perhaps impossible) for me to explain--they make my feet feel naked. And when I'm at home, I'd rather my feet just be naked so I walk around barefoot. :))

But anyway, yeah. Today I'm going very laid-back. This sack, daisy-print dress is from Lula Bop's--I got it a while back but somehow haven't shot an outfit post for it. Also, the staples of being "relaxed": gray beanie and not a stitch of make-up.
