3 Ways | A Colorful Scarf

Because the rain has been relentless, I thought that this post would be pretty helpful. Scarves are one of my favorite accessories--they're versatile, practical and take up very little space; you can fit one into your handbag super easily unlike umbrellas or structured hats, even. So today I decided to nab one of my favorites from my mom's collection and do a couple of experiments with it. Here are three ways to wear a scarf! (Also, please excuse my use of artificial lighting--the sun has decided to go sleep for a couple of days)

Round The Neck. This look is great for gatherings that require you to dress a little more sophisticated. This goes great with a-line dresses and just-above-the-knee skirts. Reminiscent of the 50s, styling the scarf this way brings out the chic in any outfit.
Hippie Headband. This look gives your everyday look a little edge. This is personally, the look I appreciate the most (and have used the most) because it helps keep your hair from your face and goes well with almost anything you can think of wearing to school--jeans, skirts, shorts, rompers, you name it. I'm also a huge fan of 70s fashion and the wide headband just screams Jimi Hendrix (as does my hair, on some days).
Draped. This is a little bit more dramatic. This works really well if your top is really plain (plainer than the one I'm wearing in the photo) because it exposes a big portion of the scarf and the pattern splashes color onto the otherwise blank canvass that is your outfit.
This goes great for strapless dresses or tops as well--if for example, you're at an event and it's a bit chilly in the room but you don't want to go full-on grandma and use the scarf as a shawl, then this works really well.
And that's it for now! :) I hope this was helpful!
