Brightside Entry | Imagine

I'm a huge John Lennon fan (in specific, and a big Beatles fan in general)--I'm a huge fan of his music and I can relate to the sort of melodies that he got into perhaps more than I can the other Beatles. Although I also like a couple of songs from the other Beatles: I like Paul's Hey, Jude, George's While My Guitar It Gently Weeps and anything that Ringo sings on because his voice is just amazing. But I find that emotionally, a lot of the songs that I connect with are John's songs. They have this minor key, melancholic, slightly paranoid/creepy element to them that I find strangely comforting. :))
Because this is going to be a very busy weekend, I decided to spend the morning (or breakfast, really) re-watching this DVD which I got for Christmas when I was 14. :) It's the IMAGINE John Lennon DVD which is wonderful because it has actual clips of Lennon from everyday life--he kept a video camera everywhere and really wanted to document everything, or at least have a snippet of everyday life to go on. And that's something I feel I can relate to--I think it's why I have this site up and why I keep a journal and maybe even why I write. Anyway, yeah. This documentary always comforts me and I'm not sure why, exactly but it helps me relax and it's really helped me unwind. :) I got this at the old Tower Records in Greenbelt but I think it ought to be available at Odyssey or any other still-existing record stores around the metro.
My favorite Lennon songs are Strawberry Fields, Jealous Guy and She Said, She Said. I thought I'd leave ya'll with this music vid of She Said, She Said. This is how I feel about life, in general. Except I was a girl, not a boy. :)) Happy listening!

    1. I have no idea :( I really miss having records and stuff although I suppose mp3s etc. are way more environmentally friendly/budget friendly. Le sigh.
