The Kyoto Dress

Words cannot express how excited I am for today's outfit post (and in a bit, you will see why). A couple of months ago, I got an e-mail from a clothing online apparel store called Sugarlips and they were asking if I wanted to do a collaboration with them and be part of their Blogger partnership program. I said yes because their pieces are so unique and so fresh--they're the kind of garments that if you saw one in a store and didn't have enough money to get it, it would haunt you until you finally got to buy it. We were asked to choose three items from their current collections and one of the things I chose was The Kyoto Japanese Maxi Dress. This was my favorite thing from their entire collection and so I was so thrilled to have gotten it. I love everything about this dress--the color, the cut, the print, the little peek-a-boo leg.

I've decided to wear this out to an event I got invited to tonight; it seems perfect for a sophisticated but chill out night on the town. I decided to wear it with a couple of vintage items to balance out the white in the color palette of this outfit.

Even the way the dress swishes when you walk or move is perfect; it's also just the right height--something incredible for a maxi dress. Because I'm 5" I was very worried about asking for a maxi dress but apparently the risk was worth it.

My little lion (I've decided to call my tattooed friend Tyrion) goes really well with it, too--something that I can't say for most of my floral print clothing.
