This beautiful article of clothing is actually called a beanie hat. And while it bothered me for a while that every time I wore this hat to school and hung out in agno (which I no longer do as I no longer have friends--hahaha kidding, kidding)--the smoking area in DLSU--I got called a hipster. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but this hat is so much more than just a "Hipster Hat". Personally, I love soft hats--I think they look so good on curly hair. It's also a great comfort as most structured hats don't fit on my huge head (I'm not kidding, the circumference of my head is shockingly big). Anyway, I've decided to do a threesome look post on this hat, to showcase my love for its versatility.
A colorful beanie hat is perfect for Manila weather--especially now that it's raining. It can shield you from everyday drizzle and add that pop of color to your outfit. For this post, I've decided to use this one from Lula Bop's; they've got a marvelous beanie collection if you're interested in buying your own beanie hat.
1. As Casual As It Gets A tanktop and jeans go a long, long way. The beanie hat adds all the color and interest to this classic white shirt and jean combination. You could easily wear this out to the mall or to a bazaar--with the ber months coming up, you just know there's bound to be one at least once a week soon.
On Look 1: white tanktop | Coco Cabana, jeans | NafNaf, shoes | Predictions (a gift)
2. Jazzed Up Rather than painting the town red, I'd much rather paint myself red with this beanie. I love how it brings out the red in this GAP cover-up that I've worn one too many times in the past few weeks. The pop of color adds cohesion to this outfit. The heels also dress the look up and make it ideal for going out in while the same tank + jeans base allows for ultimate comfort. I'd wear this to a gallery opening or on a cocktail night out in Makati.
On Look 2: white tank top | Coco Cabana, jeans | NafNaf, bird-print cover up | GAP, heels | Fioni
3. Knit on Knit This is great for occasions during the day or the afternoon that require you to be casual but put together. I paired the hat and knit top up with this colorful bag that my mom got me from Thailand; I find it just off-sets the solid colors throughout this look. Another great thing about this look is that it's definitely school (or office--if casual wear is allowed at your office) friendly but you can definitely head somewhere else after and not feel under dressed. I'd wear this out to coffee with friends or to a friend's book or magazine launch.
On Look 3: knit camel vest | GAP, jeans | Nafnaf | white tank top | Coco Cabana, elephant bag | a gift, shoes | Prediction (a gift)

Thanks Julia! :) Hahaha Yeah, it was a little risky--I'm not sure how people would've felt about me outing how I'm always being stereotyped as a hipster but looks like it turned out well enough. I'll be doing more posts like this soon! :D
