While I'm usually very picky with fragrances--I never buy a bottle of anything without looking into it first (with the exception of my Little Mermaid Disney cologne; that was an impulse buy) and usually I go for more high-end fragrances because they seem more of an investment than something cheap that I'll end up hating or that won't smell as good over time. I used to use Escada's Taj Sunset and just ordered a bottle of the Burberry classic fragrance for women.
I have, recently however made a purchase that is the exception to that rule. Yesterday, during Joy, Trish & me's window shopping extravaganza (the only way to go when you're broke), we went into this store in Town Center's new wing called Invitation House. Everything was so adorable! They sold stationary, beautiful journals, decor boxes and even a couple of very pretty accessories like hippie headbands and lace collars. But one thing that caught my eye were these bottles of cologne that they were selling; the line was called Coquette. And personally, I love that word; the french have a knack for turning any phrase or sentiment ( in this case, even the english "you're such a tease") into something beautiful-sounding.
According to Urban Dictionary, Coquette n. a woman who makes teasing sexual or romantic overtures; a flirt.
Not to say that I am exactly coquettish but there's a little flirt in everyone, no? This line came in four different fragrances: Fresh, Powder Blue, Nectarine & Honey and Green Tea. I fell in love with Fresh and Nectarine & Honey which are two distinct but wonderfully-smelling colognes.
Nectarine & Honey is sweet/citrus-y, kind of like fresh Dalandan on a hot summer day.
Fresh, on the other hand smells more just-out-of-the-tub. It smells clean and citrus-infused in a different way. The scent of this is halfway between a really nice-smelling bath soap and lemonade.
These came at the super low price (get ready) of P220/30 ml bottle. CRAZY! I couldn't resist, of course and bought a bottle each. :) I'd definitely recommend these if you're looking for light, airy fragrances.
