Holiday from Real

So the past week (literally, Tuesday to Tuesday) was spent vagabonding around Northern Luzon with my family and Keav. Wonderful, wonderful trip. We left Alabang Tuesday morning and after a painful bout of Gastroenteritis (I have an acidic stomach), we were off to Tarlac. My family owns a farm in Tarlac and so we decided to stay there overnight before heading up to Baguio the next day (also so as not to get too tired).

The next day, before heading to Baguio we had breakfast at our dear driver, Kuya Will's house in Panggasinan and wow--his house is beautiful. So breezy and right off the coast (Ate Audrey is doing full food coverage on this throughout the week, so check her out for that). After this, we decided to stop by a couple of churches (my mom is very, very Catholic--and that isn't my thing, but you know, I guess I can see how churches are beautiful). We got to Baguio at around lunch time and had a huge lunch at the legendary Star Cafe along Session Road. :) We spent four days (including Keav's birthday) in Baguio--we lived at the Consuelo Foundation Lodge, right off Easter Road. Also, we got to eat at my favorite restaurant (Mario's) and we spent Keav's birthday night out on the town at Rumour's (Session Road), one of the coziest pubs on earth & 18 BC (Legarda Street). Keav and I also spent a huge amount of time playing Plants vs Zombies (ohhhh yessss) and drinking delicious Benguet coffee (I am currently in withdrawal).

Come Easter Sunday, we packed up our things, said good-bye to the cold mountain weather and headed back down to San Fabian, Panggasinan to hit the beach. We stayed at the beautiful Happy Ripples resort, which has one of the best beach fronts I've ever been to up north. The sand was ebony and so, so smooth. The beach was also perfect for swimming. Mmmm. I love the sea. <33 That is really, all that I can say. I'll upload a couple of the underwater shots we took later today (the underwater camera is with Ate Audrey; I forgot to borrow it as I woke up late this morning). Beer, smokes, chips, delicious Pinoy food & Zombie Apocalypse against the backdrop of the sea's breathing--perfect, yes?

We were back in Metro Manila by yesterday evening; got home around midnight. :) I am exhausted and am currently typing this out at the office, half-asleep but what the hell--totally worth it. Enjoy the photos! :D Hope everyone has a good week!

The soda bottles at Kuya Will's store in Panggasinan were so pretty.

Gearing up for the trip to Baguio.

Keav's bestfriend. :)) A huge chunk of the trip was spent trying to teach me how to "get" how a rubix cube functions. Huh. :)) No, I didn't quiet get it.

Even on trips, the place I sleep is always a mess. :))

Borrowed my brother's copy of EM for some midnight reading

Youth and Death. Irony, yes? The crypt was the one place Presley wanted to play.

The expression on the faces of these statues were disturbingly detailed.
