Brightside Entry 22: Late Night Carenderia Hang-outs with Friends

If you ask me, the perfect place to hang out before, after or during a drinking session (or sometimes even without the alcohol consumption) it's a carenderia. I'm a big fan of dining al fresco; I don't really like air-conditioning. I prefer places with the hum of an electric fan in the background and ashtrays on the table; there's something about carenderias and their plastic plates and monobloc chairs that soothes me.

This probably comes from spending those summers as a child in my grandmother's house in Tarlac; she used to prepare us food in her garage/garden a lot. Also, my dad used to spend a lot of time smoking in our garden when I was young. He'd finish his breakfast pretty quickly and then stay at his desk in our front yard until 9:00 am smoking and having coffee.

Last Friday (during the EM launch), we--me, Keav, Joelle, Jeff (a new friend who I met that night through Joelle), and JC--ate at this carenderia on Kalantiaw Street called Dannylicious Barbeque and wow, let me tell you: that made my night. :) The barbeque was pretty good too although the all-time bang-for-the-buck prize still goes to Noel's along Agno (behind Taft Avenue).

Anyway, that kicked off my night pretty well: we all shared stories and told jokes and laughed at the most ridiculous things. Also, Raph joined us shortly after and he'd had a pretty traumatizing commute (thank you for coming and crossing the cement sea that is EDSA all the way from Bicutan)--he was shoved out of the MRT and someone stepped on his hand. Terrible, terrible, terrible. So we spent some time trying to comfort him and getting him to feel better by eating some very dannylicious barbeque. :)

Keav: "hugner."

JC: Trolololollll xD

Joelle enjoying her soda :D

This is my new friend Jeff's staple face.

Paraphernalia.

Me. :)) Only photo of me the entire night, actually aside from the one with me and Keav in it.

Told you this was his staple face.

JC's "I swallowed a rat" face. HAHAHA

Eating taken seriously.

Only at Dannylicious!

Keavin trying to be Hodor but instead capturing perfectly my phobia of clowns.
